ALLDAY PROJECT’s Annie Addresses Her True Feelings About Getting Labeled “Chairwoman’s Daughter” Everywhere
Even before her debut as a member of ALLDAY PROJECT, Annie had created a strong impression on the public simply because of her family background. As the granddaughter of the Shinsegae group’s Chairwoman, she belongs to one of the wealthiest families in Korea.

Since the very beginning of her career, Annie has been labeled the “Chaebol idol” due to her wealthy background, and even had to face some unpleasant assumptions about her eligibility as an idol. However, she has rarely addressed the negative side of bearing such a label.
However, in a recent interview, Annie shared her candid thoughts about getting labeled the “third-generation chaebol.” On July 25, all members of ALLDAY PROJECT appeared as guests on Mnet‘s L1ve Wire, and during an honest talk segment, showed off their sincere charms.

While talking about the members’ pre-debut stardom, the hosts asked Annie if she felt burdened being referred to as the “Chariwoman’s daughter.” She responded with unexpected grace, saying that she believed it was up to her on how to shift that narrative.

Rather than feeling pressure, I want to shift that perception by showing more of my musical and performance abilities.

She showed her matured outlook toward the situation, further stating, “People bring it up wherever I go, but it’s something I naturally have to embrace.”
Annie’s grounded response and demeanor have pleasantly surprised many, strengthening the possibility that she has the potential to outgrow the Chaebol title.
