Legendary Girl Group Member Exposes Ex-Boyfriend For Cheating On Her With Another Idol

Former Sugar member Ayumi opened up about her past dating experience. On December 3, she appeared in a YouTube interview show where she shared a story about something that happened 20 years ago during a drinking session.

Ayumi recalled that singer Jang Youngran, another girl group member, and herself were all drinking together. As they talked, they realized that they had been seeing the same man.

“You, me, and another girl group idol were drinking at my place. While we were talking, the topic shifted to dating. That idol said, ‘I’m seeing someone, but another guy keeps contacting me, and it’s making things difficult.’ Both of the men involved were celebrities. When we asked, ‘Who keeps contacting you like that?’ she named him — and it turned out he was my boyfriend.”

Ayumi said her heart started pounding as they were in a secret relationship.

“No one knew I was his girlfriend. I didn’t know whether I should say something, and my face just kept turning pale. I pulled you aside and said, ‘Actually… I’m dating that guy,’ and you didn’t know what to do either.”

Ayumi continued to explain how the female idol had cried due to the matter.

“She was crying, saying the guy was bothering her so much and making her exhausted. I couldn’t take it anymore. So right there I said, ‘Actually, I’m the one dating him.’ She burst into tears. The whole gathering became so awkward that we just ended it early. But I still remember you telling me, ‘Think carefully about how you’re going to continue with that guy. It’s going to be okay.’”

Afterward, Ayumi contacted her boyfriend directly to confirm the situation. He denied everything and pinned it on the girl group member.

“I called him immediately and asked what was going on. He said, ‘She keeps saying I’m the one contacting her, but she’s the one who keeps messaging me first.’”

Ayumi did not disclose the identity of her then-boyfriend, nor the girl group member.
