K-Pop Star Admits One Too Many Plastic Surgeries Changed Her Face For The Worse
Soloist Baek Jiyoung has candidly opened up about why she first underwent cosmetic procedures, how much she has actually spent, and how repeated surgeries have changed her face over time.

In the latest video shared to her YouTube channel, Baek Jiyoung and her actor husband, Jung Suk Won, were seen visiting a plastic surgery clinic for a consultation. There, Baek Jiyoung revealed that she first went under the knife at age 20, at her mother’s suggestion.

After I entered a broadcasting and entertainment department in college, my mom asked if I should get my nose done—maybe my eyes too. So I ended up doing it.

What began as a practical decision tied to her on-camera career gradually became something more personal. Baek Jiyoung shared that her nose was originally small and low, which led her to seek enhancement for her camera work. However, repeated procedures altered its proportions: Baek Jiyoung and the plastic surgeon both agreed that the tip of her nose is too lifted, and one of her nostrils has lost shape.

Reflecting on decades of experience, she warned against chasing beauty trends. “If you follow trends in plastic surgery, you’ll ruin your face. You have to find what naturally suits you,” she said. She admitted that once she saw improvement, it became difficult to stop.

It’s not greed. I see flaws others don’t. Once you experience getting better results, you want to do it again. There’s a psychological aspect.

Lastly, she flat out denied and laughed off rumors that she had spent over ₩1.00 billion KRW (about $695,000 USD) on procedures.
Now 49, Baek Ji Young’s honesty about her experience—including the pressures, regrets, and psychological factors involved—has sparked renewed conversation. Rather than glamorizing surgery, she offered a cautionary perspective shaped by 30 years in the spotlight!
