Beloved Actress Admits She Earns “Barely Anything” From Acting

Actress Lim Hyun Joo has honestly revealed that she currently makes more money through Instagram advertisements than from acting. Her candid remarks about her lack of a breakout role and the reality of being an actress resonated with many viewers.

On the May 28, 2025, episode of the YouTube channel No-Bakku Tak Jae Hoon, Hyun Joo appeared as a guest and admitted that the dating reality show she made her debut on is her most well-known work. She starred in season two of the hit show Heart Signal.

She drew attention by openly discussing her income. Hyun Joo revealed that although acting is her main job, she makes barely anything from it. She earns revenue from Instagram advertisements instead.

“I barely make anything from acting. Right now, I make a living from Instagram ad revenue. It’s enough to get by. I also have a YouTube channel. It’s a bit disappointing that my subscriber count hasn’t passed 100,000. I hope it goes over that mark after this show.”

Although she hasn’t had a chance to shine yet, Hyun Joo is currently preparing for her moment. She continues to widen her world view and better herself while waiting.

“I’m looking into acting courses in London. I’d love to try a global character like a Bond girl. I’m also learning cello, horseback riding, and stretching. This is a time of training for me. I believe my moment will come.”
