BLACKPINK Fans Express Worry For Rosé’s Hair And Scalp With Constant Dyeing

“I really don’t understand why K-Pop idols don’t use wigs…”

At this point, nearly seven years into BLACKPINK‘s career, Rosé has had blonde or light-colored hair so much that it’s easy to forget that it’s not her natural hair color. It just suits her complexion so well, and she seems to like it just as much as her fans do!

But for someone with naturally dark hair, it takes a lot of bleaching and touching up to keep hair that color for an extended period of time. A person has to constantly re-dye their roots to keep them from getting too noticeable, and even those she keeps to lighter shades, Rosé does switch things up every now and then with different colors that require even more work.

Of course, bleaching is known to be harsh on hair, and it’s generally not recommended to do very often for the sake of one’s hair health. There are things you can do to help prevent negative side effects of using bleach, but it’s hard to avoid at least some damage if you’re constantly bleaching.

Because of these factors, fans are growing increasingly worried for the health of Rosé’s hair, since it has been rare in the seven years since the group debuted that she was seen without blonde or other light shades. Some think that her hair is noticeably thinner than it was when she first debuted, though it’s hard to tell if that’s true or not.

Of course, Rosé is far from the first K-Pop idol to have fans worried about their hair health due to frequent dye jobs. Another idol known for tricking fans into thinking she’s a “natural blonde” is Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon, who also only rarely was seen without light-colored locks. There have also been male idols such as TXT‘s Yeonjun and EXO‘s Chanyeol that seemed to have noticeably thinner hair after frequent dyeing.

The topic of Rosé’s hair health was discussed recently on an online forum, where fans expressed their concerns about the future of her hair and scalp if she continues to stay blonde. Many wonder why wigs aren’t more commonly used in the K-Pop industry in general, to save idols from the often painful and time-intensive bleaching process.

We do hope that Rosé’s hair is doing alright despite the constant dyeing, and that she doesn’t deal with negative impacts from it in the long run!
