While it is no surprise that Mnet has already begun their infamous evil editing

Or that fans are already identifying some of their favorite contestants by their auditions or personalities

Fans hadn’t expected to see a video game included in the list of sponsors at the end of the show’s episodes.

K-Drama and survival show viewers are incredibly familiar with how shows will include the list of sponsors at the end of every episode, which can even lead to some subtle or hilarious promotions in the actual episodes themselves.

But viewers were still surprised to see that the popular video game Genshin Impact (원신) was included in the list of Boys Planet sponsors.

Genshin Impact is a hit action role-playing game that has a huge fanbase all over the world.

Experience an immersive single-player campaign. As a traveler from another world, you will embark on a journey to reunite with your long-lost sibling and unravel the mysteries of Teyvat, and yourself.

Fly across the open world, swim through crystal-clear waters, and climb towering mountains. Stray off the beaten path to discover all the hidden secrets of a world full of wonder and mystery.

Given the sponsorship, some Boys Planet viewers are joking about getting some sort of benefit for both watching the show and playing the game.

Or are suggesting that there might be a future collaboration between Boys Planet (or the eventual debuted group) and Genshin Impact.

Metaverse platforms, including video games, have more frequently been collaborating with K-Pop groups to give fans exciting new content and Boys Planet is no exception. The survival show is already collaborating with The Sandbox, “a voxel-based metaverse platform,” to allow viewers to select avatars designed by the trainees and explore both “Star Land” and “Boys Land” to further interact with the show.

While viewers will have to wait and see what the Genshin Impact sponsorship could mean for the future, fans are excited to see the unexpected crossover.
