BTS was previously announced to be taking on the role of the ambassadors for Busan’s World Expo in 2030. As their first act of duty, they will be holding a global concert in Busan come October 2022, in order to spread the word about the World Expo.
On July 7, 2022, HYBE announced their plans for the concert. They finalized the month that the concert would be held in, after previously announcing plans of a global concert.

As part of their ambassadorship, BTS will not only serve as a goodwill ambassador for the Expo, but also participate in negotiations with the 170 countries that make up the Bureau International des Expositions, which votes for the host country. The plan is for BTS to serve as an ambassador during the Bureau International des Expositions committee’s visit to South Korea and even possibly visit Paris, France on the voting day to ask for support from the committee to vote for Busan to host the 2030 World Expo. They will also launch promotional activities online through videos and photoshoots that will be distributed through social media and work on Busan’s pop culture and infrastructure.
