Following Jin’s entrance ceremony, the BTS member will complete a five-week boot camp before deploying to the front-line units, where he is expected to spend the remainder of his service.

Before Jin’s enlistment, BIGHIT MUSIC released a formal statement asking fans and media to refrain from showing up to the site of the entrance ceremony out of respect for fellow recruits and their families.

Hello,

This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

We want to thank you for your continued support of BTS and would like to update you on Jin’s upcoming enlistment into the military.

Jin will fulfill his required time with the military by enlisting in the army. Please note that we will not be holding any kind of official event on the day of his recruitment.

The entrance ceremony is a time to be observed by military personnel and their families only. In order to prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, we ask fans to please refrain from visiting the site. Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts.

We also advise you not to get adversely affected by purchasing unauthorized tours or product packages illegally using artist IP. Our company will take necessary action against any attempts at commercial activity making unauthorized use of such IP.

We ask for your continued love and support for Jin until he finishes his military service and comes back. Our company will also strive to provide every support he needs during this time.

Thank you.

Korean celebrities often take a moment before their enlistment to address media and fans outside the training center gates. Out of respect and privacy for Jin and his fellow recruits, BIGHIT MUSIC shared that there would be no special event to see Jin off and requested that well-wishes and messages of support be sent through words.

Jin entered the new recruits’ training center at the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province on the afternoon of December 13 (KST), sending ARMYs a lighthearted farewell on Weverse a few hours before his enlistment.

While Jin has asked the press and fans to refrain from showing up at the base, visitors have awaited his arrival since 9 AM. Reporters lined up across the street to capture one final glimpse of Jin as a civilian.

As previously reported by local media, military authorities had additional police officers present and extra security measures in place to ensure the safety of Jin, his fellow recruits, and their family members, anticipating a crowd of media and fans to be present.

Officers and military authorities carefully guarded the gates to the training center, only allowing recruits and their families to enter as of 1 PM (KST).

Approaching 2 PM (KST), police presence increased as they anticipated Jin’s imminent arrival.

Shortly before 1:45 PM (KST), Jin arrived in a fleet of six black KIAs that swiftly drove into the training center.

As expected, Jin remained in his car as he arrived at the training center so as not to disturb the ceremony.

According to informants at the scene, it’s believed all seven members arrived together to see their oldest hyung off for his military service.

We wish Jin well and look forward to his safe return in 2024!
