BTS’s V is gearing up to release his first solo album, Layover, on September 8. Fans have already gotten two official music videos from the record, “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days.” The anticipation around the rest of the tracks is at an all-time high.
During these waiting periods, what makes ARMYs the most jealous is how BTS always has early access to their songs, even for the solo projects they have done so far. Each of the members has said that they share their solo songs with each other before the official release. V, too, is no exception.
On September 6, KST, V appeared as a guest on the popular variety show, You Quiz on the Block and talked at length about his new album. When the hosts asked if he had shared his songs with the members, V responded that not all the members got to listen to his tracks in advance due to their busy schedules. But J-Hope and Jungkook were the two members he played his songs for.
Talking about their reactions, V said his members felt the music suited his vibe just right. He also talked about the surprising involvement Jungkook had with this album.
Yoo Jae Suk: How was their reaction?
V: [They said] “It’s so fresh. I’m so happy you found music that suits you perfectly.”
When Jungkook released his first solo single, “Seven,” he had mentioned in an interview that he and V often send each other new songs right after recording them.
It turns out the duo worked even more closely for V’s solo songs. V shared that he even did some of the recordings at Jungkook’s place, and the maknae even took up the duty of vocal directing!
In a way, then, Layover is a unique collaboration of the youngest two BTS members.
