BTS Sets New Record With Their “Favorite Pop Duo Or Group” Win At The 2022 AMAs

Congratulations to BTS for their historic win!

BTS made their American primetime television show debut five years ago on the American Music Awards (AMAs) stage. Their 2017 performance of “DNA” was a defining moment in their career that solidified what ARMYs already knew, they were a global success.

This year, the group was nominated for the new category, “Favorite K-Pop Artist,” alongside TXT, TWICE, BLACKPINK, and SEVENTEEN.

They also received a nomination for “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” alongside Coldplay, Imagine DragonsMåneskin, and One Republic. BTS has been nominated for the “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” category for the fourth year in a row.

The group is also up for “Fan Favorite” alongside One Direction.

BTS was officially announced as the “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” winner before the official awards show and made history with their win.

With their fourth consecutive win in that category, BTS became the first artist in the AMAs 50-year history.

The AMAs is America’s largest fan-voted award ceremony, making the historical win even more significant as ARMYs continue to show BTS their love.

Their fourth “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” win was not the only historical moment BTS achieved today. BTS’s Jungkook made history as the first Korean artist to perform at the FIFA World Cup with his legendary performance at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 opening ceremony.
