Though BIGHIT MUSIC already informed ARMYs about the enlistment of the remaining four BTS members, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, in November, they have refrained from providing any additional details about the process, except that Jimin and Jungkook will be enlisting through a companion system, where they will be allotted to the same training center and the same unit.

Hello.
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

Thank you for your continued love and support for BTS. We would like to update you on RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook’s upcoming enlistment into the military.

RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will fulfill their required time with the military by enlisting in the army. RM and V will be enlisting according to their respective procedures, while Jimin and Jung Kook are scheduled to enlist together. Please note that there will be no official event on the day of their entry.

However, Korean media outlets recently reported that he is expected to join the Special Duty Team, an anti-terrorism unit directly under the supervision of the Blue House. While some ARMYs were skeptical about the speculation, others expressed concern over this news, given that this task force has a stricter training program and often participates in operations with high-level risks.

On December 5, KST, V confirmed the news through a live broadcast on Weverse, where he was also joined by RM, Jimin, and Jungkook. He said that joining this particular unit was a challenge to himself and addressed fans’ concerns, reassuring them that he could take care of himself in the process.

There were articles coming out about the unit I will be enlisting. ARMYs were worried, but honestly, I just wanted to challenge myself by going there and because I have goals. So please do not worry too much. I am challenging myself, but I also know how to deflect when needed.

He even specifically talked about his fear of heights, which fans were worried about since the SDT training requires learning to rappel down buildings and helicopters.

I shall return healthy and not get hurt. I’m a little bit scared of rappels, but… just please trust me.

— V

Needless to say, ARMYs are proud of V’s attitude toward his enlistment while simultaneously wishing for his health and safety during the period.
