Culprit Behind SEVENTEEN Mingyu’s Inappropriate Photo Leak Acquitted

In September last year, an employee of the French luxury brand L’Occitane came under fire for posting some inappropriate photos of SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu, prompting a police probe. Months later, the investigation has concluded, with the accused being acquitted.

The L’Occitane employee, identified as “A,” had posted a bunch of photos they secretly took of Mingyu during his commercial shoot. Some of those pictures had even captured him in a shirtless state. This incident invited scathing criticism from fans, and the brand hastily apologized for the mishap.

“A” was then reported to the police on suspicions of secretly filming the idol. But their investigation has concluded that the photos posted by “A” on their social media account did not constitute pictures of someone’s naked body taken without their consent, since Mingyu was shirtless for the purpose of the shoot. Additionally, the charges of illegal filming didn’t stick either as the police determined that the pictures didn’t cause Mingyu any “humiliation,” as the photoshoot itself was for the purpose of advertise a certain product.
Meanwhile, recently SEVENTEEN fans were left enraged at an AI-generated post involving childhood pictures of some of the members after Hoshi interacted with the post on Weverse. Read more about it here.
