DAWN Reveals The Biggest Change In His Life After Breaking Up With HyunA
In the latest episode of Radio Star, DAWN got candid about his single life after the high-profile breakup with fellow K-Pop star HyunA back in 2022.
DAWN and HyunA began dating in May 2016, as revealed in 2018 (which led to their departure from CUBE Entertainment). After going public with their relationship and becoming iconic in the K-Pop world for such an unprecedented handling of their dating scandal, the couple later announced wedding plans, including DAWN’s custom-designed engagement ring.
That said, the 2022 breakup was unexpected for all.
And for DAWN, it seems to have served as a turning point in his life. The idol explained on Radio Star that he now prefers his singleness and “dreams of living alone forever.”
I really, really love living alone. I’m by myself for about two-thirds of the year. I think… I just absolutely need to be alone.

When the show host Kim Gu Ra hinted at the breakup, DAWN confirmed that it was definitely after splitting ways with HyunA that he “absolutely [needs] to be alone.”
Kim Gu Ra: So, after living alone for three years, you find that more comfortable?
DAWN: Yeah, that’s right. But because of business meetings and maintaining a social life, I do invite people over to my place.
DAWN has been sharing his calm, quiet, “home alone” moments via his YouTube channel. One of his videos, posted four months ago, ended up drawing a lot of attention for how beautiful his home is.
