Debut Showcase Of A New Girl Group Canceled Due To Fire Emergency In A Nearby Building

They’re Play M Entertainment’s first girl group to debut in 10 years after their successful superiors, Apink.

The new girl group, Weeekly, who debuted yesterday (KST time) on June 30, was forced to cancel their debut showcase due to a fire that broke out in a nearby building.

According to their agency, Play M Entertainment, the debut showcase was canceled due to the safety concerns of the artists and staff.

Their official reads as follows:

Hello, this is Play M Entertainment.

Due to a fire that broke out in a building near where the debut showcase was to take place tonight at 8 PM, we have canceled the event after an emegency evacuation due to safety concerns of the artists and staff.

We apologize to fans who have been waiting, and we will continue to update you on the situation related to the fire.

Weeekly is the first girl group of Play M Entertainment to debut in 10 years following Apink, and as such, there was overwhelming anticipation for what the 7 members would have to offer upon their debut.

So the unlucky circumstances surrounding Weeekly’s debut have fans expressing their regret through comments such as “They must be so upset“, “How could that happen on their debut day?“, “This might be a sign that they’ll really hit it big“, and “How unfortunate“.
