Yet, after the video was reposted, netizens noticed that something had been edited out. In the original video, many brought back pictures that showed Yoohyeon holding something that seemed like a vape.

While it wasn’t confirmed, a netizen shared a similar vape from the internet that seemed almost identical to the one the idol was holding.

Yet, while there is always a taboo around topics like smoking, especially when it comes to female idols, the consensus around Yoohyeon’s actions was much more positive and supportive.

While the initial post seemed to want to spark a debate, the comments seemed to understand the idol’s perspective, with some even mentioning the issue of double standards within the industry.

  • Having to face Korean men at these fan signs, they’re angels for only smoking.
  • Metal idols can do that once in a while.
  • Strong women are so attractive!
  • If guy idols did this, people would quietly ignore it, lol.

In particular, it’s not the first time that the issue of double standards has been raised. In an interview, actress Han So Hee called out double standards when it came to Korean stars and tattoos.

While the original video was taken down and reuploaded, many netizens were surprised by the support the idol received.
