Earlier, we reported that the drama is officially the most watched mini-series in Korea. This is thanks to the drama achieving a 10x growth spurt in its rating since its first episode.
Well, data company Good Data published its weekly chart indexing the most talked about dramas and actors.
Not surprisingly, according to the data, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is the most talked about drama for the second week in a row, and it isn’t even close. The drama topped the chart with a jaw-dropping score of 45.3, almost 5x second place, Alchemy of Souls.
What may be surprising to some, however, is the rankings for Korea’s most searched actor.
Defeating out fellow Extraordinary Attorney Woo castmates is none other than Woo Young Woo’s may-or-may-not-be love interest actor Kang Tae Oh! The drama’s Park Eun Bin, Kang Ki Young, and Jeon Bae Soo came in second, third, and fourth on the chart, respectively.
Kang Tae Oh’s first place finish signals the soaring actor’s popularity.
Although the actor wasn’t very known before the drama, Kang Tae Oh’s soft charisma and gentlemanly character have catapulted the actor’s stock.
The 28-year-old actor first made his debut through a web drama in 2013. Since then, the actor has acted in small roles in dramas such as Miss Korea (2013) and Netflix’s My First First Love (2019). Most recently, the actor played the third male lead in Park Bo Young‘s Doom At Your Service (2021) and Run On (2020).
In Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Kang Tae Oh plays the first male lead behind actress Park Eun Bin.
The actor plays Lee Junho in the drama. Lee Junho is attorney Woo Young Woo’s senior at their law firm Hanbada.
The actor’s heart-warming interactions with Woo Young Woo seem to be woo-ing viewers.
Despite this being his first time in a leading role, actor Kang Tae Oh is proving to be capable of holding his own in scenes with Park Eun Bin.
Whether Kang Tae Oh’s popularity from the drama will lead to stardom is yet to be seen, but if viewers had to bet, surely the answer would be a resounding yes!
