Unfair Or Common Practice? Fans Fiercely Divided After Alleged JYP Trainee’s “Soft Launch” In NMIXX’s New MV
An alleged JYP Entertainment trainee is going viral after appearing in NMIXX’s latest music video, with some fans accusing the company of using the cameo as a “soft launch” for its next girl group.
Following the release of NMIXX’s “Heavy Serenade” music video, Korean netizens began sharing screenshots of a young woman who appeared in the video and is rumored to be a JYPE girl group trainee. The post quickly gained traction on Korean community site theqoo, where the original poster claimed that the trainee is rumored to be Kim Nabin, born in 2008.
The alleged trainee’s identity has not been officially confirmed by JYP Entertainment. Still, fans and netizens were quick to praise her visuals, with many describing her as innocent-looking, bunny-like, and reminiscent of other female idols.

However, the conversation soon shifted from her visuals to whether it was appropriate for JYP Entertainment to feature a rumored future girl group trainee in NMIXX’s music video.
Many fans felt the issue was not the trainee herself, but the way she was filmed. Some argued that she appeared too much like an actual NMIXX member rather than a brief cameo or separate character.

- Wow, she’s so pretty. Pure bunny vibes.
- NMIXX is at such an important point right now, so what is this…? People who don’t know them might think that trainee is an NMIXX member. There were so many other ways they could’ve done it. Isn’t this way too unfair for NMIXX? Fans must be so annoyed because they can’t even say anything anywhere.
- She looks like LOONA’s Heejin.
- So freaking pretty.
- Fans are probably kind of annoyed.
- I don’t think putting a female idol in another female idol group’s MV is a good idea.
- I read the comments first and then watched the MV, and yeah, I totally get why people would hate it. It’s not like she just passes by briefly. They filmed her like she was a member, with the framing and everything… NMIXX’s promotions aren’t supposed to be promotions to boost a rookie.
- Usually, don’t they put trainees in as a crossover, like as the counterpart/love-interest role in an opposite-sex group’s content?
- People who don’t know would think she’s a new member. I don’t like promoting a future idol this way.
Others pointed out that when companies include trainees or soon-to-debut idols in senior artists’ content, they often place them in a more clearly separate role, such as an opposite-sex love interest or supporting character. Here, some felt the trainee blended too closely into the group’s visual framing.

- But she comes out looking way too much like a member, so it kind of bothers me.
- If I were a fan, I’d hate it. I really hated it when my idol’s junior group appeared in their content.
- I also thought she was one of NMIXX and wondered why her face had changed so much. It’s not like they filmed her separately from the members either…

- She’s pretty.
- Wow, she’s pretty.
- Someone who doesn’t know them would think she’s a member.
- She’s so cute LOL, like a baby.
- How idol companies piss fans off: putting a trainee who’s about to debut into a senior artist’s MV or song credits, and then endlessly promoting them with that after debut.
- Ah, so this is why they usually put trainees’ faces in opposite-sex idol MVs. I never thought about it before, but that makes sense.
As of now, JYP Entertainment has not confirmed the trainee’s identity or whether the appearance was intended as an early teaser for an upcoming girl group. But one thing is clear—the brief MV appearance has already made her a hot topic.
