Trailers Introducing New Possible NCT Members Have Netizens Feeling Extremely Uncomfortable

The road to the new NCT unit has been a rough one.

Over the last few months, NCT‘s full member line-up has made several changes. Lucas announced his departure following a long hiatus, while it was revealed that Sungchan and Shotaro would leave NCT with plans to debut in the upcoming new boy group.

This left many fans upset and confused, especially regarding the plans for the Tokyo-based subunit that was previously announced.

SM Entertainment revealed that the final NCT members would be decided through a reality program with the two newest SM Rookies, Sion and Yushi, already confirmed as members.

One of the first two contestants introduced is Ryo, and it is apparent he is on the younger side based on the thumbnail of his teaser.

In the teaser video, the trainee can be seen lying down and playing with toy cars in what appears to be a child’s bedroom. He’s also dressed in what looks like a kid’s school uniform.

Many fans are uncomfortable with the child-like image that is being given by the teaser.

This video is not the only one fans have shared their discomfort with how young they look. Trainees Jungmin and Kassho‘s youthful appearances have also turned some heads.

With fixed members Sion and Yushi being 21 and 19, many are fearful these trainees will be even younger. NCT are a seven-year-old group, and with members in their late twenties, it is not unreasonable to see many not like that new members could be more than a decade younger.
