Fantagio Gets Grilled Over ASTRO Cha Eunwoo’s Tax Evasion Allegations
ASTRO member Cha Eunwoo is currently facing serious allegations of tax evasion. According to reports, he was notified by the National Tax Service that he owes over ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $13.7 million USD) in additional taxes, including income tax, on charges of tax evasion.

While the news has put the idol-actor under significant scrutiny, many have also directed heavy criticism toward his management agency, Fantagio. In their statement reaffirming the validity of Cha Eunwoo’s one-person agency, his legal representatives stated that his mother felt the need to protect her son’s career from the instability at Fantagio.
Due to frequent changes in Fantagio’s leadership, Cha Eunwoo’s mother felt the need to protect her son’s entertainment activities and therefore established a company to directly operate a management business. The company is not a paper company, but a legally registered cultural and entertainment management agency.

Hence, fans are considering the current allegations against Eunwoo as a direct fault of Fantagio’s inadequate management. Many also felt that the company failed to protect the image of its artist by letting the issue get to this point.
we criticise fantagio for failing to properly protect its artist, the issues stemmed from fantagio's past instability, which forced his mother to establish her own company, fanta allowed tax matters to become complicated, ultimately leading to an audit, don't blame cew or his fam https://t.co/OOVTlpFEKu

Crazy to think as to why his mom had to establish a separate company shows how incompetent fantagio actually is. I mean fanmu cleary knows how bankrupt they went in 2018. I really hope this tax audit goes well for CEW🙏 https://t.co/btAiNAhGwN

This situation exposes Fantagio’s inability to protect an artist of Eunwoo’s stature. Before dragging Eunwoo into this, acknowledge the company’s ongoing financial, structural, and long-standing mismanagement issues.

While the tax issue is yet to be resolved, many fans expressed hope that it would push Eunwoo to leave Fantagio’s management next year and find a more suitable agency.

Why do I think Chaeunwoo is planning to leave ftg. And then he is framed by ftg? It's better to leave this useless company as soon as possible. https://t.co/oYNif2CUSm
