Female Reality Show Star Marries Her Non-Celebrity Girlfriend
Kwak Seon Hee, a well-known face who became popular through her appearance on Channel A’s Steel Troops W, is tying the knot with her non-celebrity partner in New York, USA.

On November 3, KST, Kwak posted a cheeky announcement on her social media. She uploaded a photo of her watch screen saying “A good day to race,” but with the word “race” crossed out and replaced with “wedding.”

In another Instagram story, Kwak announced that she had finished the New York City Marathon and expressed her gratitude for her partner, saying, “Thank you so much to my wife, who made this New York trip, the marathon, and tomorrow’s wedding ceremony and photo shoot even more meaningful.”

Previously, Kwak had revealed that she was in a same-sex relationship and introduced her partner through social media in July. She had openly discussed the struggles of sexual minorities in Korea, revealing that she was living with her partner but couldn’t register as her spouse.
We tried to register as spouses through the resident registration, but the local district office told us that ‘since both of us are women, it’s not possible to register as spouses,’ so we registered each other as housemates instead.

She also shared details about her participation in the New York Marathon, mentioning that her girlfriend would be accompanying her. “I heard there’s a place where we can exchange vows, so if the opportunity arises, we’ll do it there,” she had stated. The two had also planned to take wedding photos in Jeju Island at the end of November.

Kwak Seong Hee, a former army lieutenant who is currently a model and marathoner, has been open and candid about her relationship with her non-celebrity girlfriend for some time. Despite becoming a public face, she has never shied away from speaking up for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in Korea.
