When multiple news outlets reported on October 28, 2025 (KST) that the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station had applied for arrest warrants against two men in their 20s and 30s, Man A and Man B, on charges of attempted murder for kidnapping Man C in his 30s, some YouTube fans suspected that Man C might be Ko Jin Ho, a long-time horror game streamer also known by his channel name of SUTAK.

The speculations were based on the make and model of the car shown in the news, as well as personal details such as the fact that Man C was reported as a 30-year-old gaming YouTuber with 1 million subscribers residing in Songdo, Incheon. The YouTuber’s agency, Sandbox Network, then released a statement on October 29, confirming that the victim mentioned in the police report is indeed Sutak.

Through Sutak’s YouTube channel, Sandbox explained:

We would like to update everyone on the current situation regarding our creator, Sutak, in relation to the recent unfortunate incident reported by the media and online communities. As many have feared, we confirm that the victim in the case is indeed Sutak.
Sutak is currently hospitalized and awaiting surgery, focusing on his treatment and recovery. He asked us to convey his sincere apologies to fans for causing concern. We sincerely apologize to the fans who were shocked by this sudden news and ask for your kind understanding and warm support so that Sutak can make a healthy recovery.

While the news alone was already shocking enough for Sutak’s substantial fan base, JTBC‘s Crime Chief revealed more details—including gruesome photos of Sutak’s current condition.
According to the investigative TV program and the police report, Man A and Sutak had a used car dealer-customer relationship. After leaving his car with Man A, Sutak began receiving notices for unpaid fines and toll fees, prompting him to reach out. Man A then sent Sutak an address on October 19, telling him to “Come get your money.”
When Sutak looked up the address and found it was in the middle of a mountain, he refused to go. The suspect then changed the meeting place to an apartment parking lot, where the kidnapping occurred.

Sutak: Let me know where.
Man A: Sure. I’ll text you right back.
Man A: [Address]
Sutak: What even is this place? It’s in the middle of nowhere.
Man A and Man B attacked Sutak as soon as he showed up to the parking lot. The two then got him in a car, where one drove while the other continued beating him up. Sutak was beaten for two hours.

Sutak parked the car not in a parking spot but in a driving lane. He was suspicious and stayed inside, when he noticed someone hiding nearby wearing a hoodie. Feeling uneasy, he called the police. Once the suspects realized he had called for help, they pulled out a cord and tried to strangle him.
One was driving, and the other sat in the backseat hitting his face. They said things like, ‘It’s easier to just kill you. We’ll kill you, sell your organs, and run.’ When Sutak said he only had a few hundred million won, they replied, ‘Then that’s how much you’re dying for.’

What saved his life was a police report that Sutak filed right before meeting up with the two men. He asked for help from the police, noting that he felt his “safety was on the line.” Responding to the report, police tracked the vehicle using CCTV footage and arrested Man A and Man B around 2:40 AM on October 27 in a remote mountain area in South Chungcheong Province, about 125 miles (200 kilometers) from Sutak’s residence.

The two men have been charged them with attempted murder while Sutak remains in the hospital awaiting surgery. Sandbox Network reiterated that the YouTuber is devoting himself to recovering.
He wanted us to tell fans that he’s sorry for causing so much concern with what happened.
