G-Dragon performed at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome for his 2025 World Tour [Ubermench] concert. While on the stage, he cheekily asked the audience if any parts of his performance that day had sparked any controversies. “If so, I’m sorry,” he said to the audience, adding, “I ask for your understanding.”

The idol continued, saying that he was just doing his best, and appealed to the audience with sincerity, “Please don’t hate it.” He admitted that despite being in this profession for 19 years, he still gets shocked by such controversies. When an audience member shouted, saying, “You were perfect,” G-Dragon humbly denied, saying that he was far from it. He frankly admitted that his performance quality depends on his condition each day, but he never gave anything less than his best. He concluded the speech by reflecting on the night’s performance, stating that he was personally satisfied with the concert.

The controversy that G-Dragon referred to in this speech occurred during this year’s MAMA Awards, where he appeared to be struggling with his vocals on stage. It not only drew backlash from viewers but also brought his previous performances under scrutiny, especially his March concert in Goyang, where he was 74 minutes late and delivered a shaky performance amid turbulent weather.

  • “Honestly, 5th-generation idols get ripped apart for stuff like this, so I don’t understand why people are being so forgiving only when it comes to him.”
  • “Blaming it on his condition doesn’t make sense. He hasn’t been doing it properly recently.”
  • “Then just do concerts for your own fans. Don’t come out to things like MAMAs.”
  • “Apparently, the fans are happy, so whatever. Just let it be.”
  • “Just practice already.”
