G-Dragon Gets Flamed For His Performance At “2025 MAMAs”

On November 29, KST, BIGBANG member G-Dragon attended the second day of the 2025 MAMAs.

The night was monumental for the idol, as he received the prestigious Artist of the Year award, one of the Daesangs or Grand Prizes of the night.

He also delivered a 15-minute performance, singing songs from his new album, Übermensch, as well as some of his old releases. He also brought beatboxer Wing from Beatpella House on stage, who performed an entire solo segment in the middle of G-Dragon’s set. Overall, the performance received a very enthusiastic and positive response from the live audience, especially with G-Dragon’s powerful presence and the high level of stage production combined together.

However, the performance was not received well by online viewers. Many criticized him for his use of AR and the lack of live singing on stage. Especially during “Heartbreaker,” the idol was seen repeatedly stopping mid-performance and didn’t dance the full choreography. Many viewers watching through livestreams complained that G-Dragon didn’t really sing the song much live. Even during the “Untitled, 2014,” many claimed that his live voice was not audible much during the first half. While he stood on stage performing all by himself, he appeared somewhat restless, which some interpreted as stage nerves.

Community sites were abuzz after G-Dragon’s set, with many expressing their disappointment in the performance. The focus of these comments was mainly on the lack of live vocals.
