Considering her longevity in the group, it isn’t surprising that she has seemingly shared her reactions to the drama happening with SM Entertainment and HYBE.

Earlier in the month, it was reported that SM Entertainment and Kakao joined hands, with further news stating that founder Lee Soo Man disapproved of the deal and intended to sue the directors of SM Entertainment.

If that wasn’t enough, after the drama from SM Entertainment, rumors arose that HYBE was interested in becoming a shareholder in the company and buying up Lee Soo Man’s shares.

On February 10, HYBE announced it had purchased Lee Soo Man’s shares, making it the largest shareholder in the company.

We signed a contract on February 8 to acquire a 14.8% stake, or 3,523,420 shares, in SM Entertainment that were previously held by Lee Soo Man.

Many fans and those working at SM Entertainment have been vocal about everything that has been happening, including the drama surrounding Lee Soo Man’s nephew. Some netizens even compared everything going on to the popular K-Drama Itaewon Class.

Well, aside from the fans and employees, the announcements will have an impact on the idols at SM. Taeyeon’s Instagram story gained attention for seemingly alluding to the situation.

On February 16 (KST), Taeyeon shared a video from the 2010 movie The Unjust. In the scene posted, actor Ryu Seung Bum looks at people making a fuss on the golf course and says, “Man, you guys are really living busily.”

Along with many international fans claiming that Taeyeon was referencing the busy and chaotic situation at SM, Korean netizens sympathized with the idol. They also praised Taeyeon for her neutral stance, sharing her opinions on the chaos but not targeting anyone.

  • “I wonder how frustrating it is for her inside.”
  • “Rather than dissing anyone in particular, she’s probably just talking about overall”
  • “She isn’t attacking anyone but just seems to say she’s taken aback by the situation.”
  • “How frustrating it must be for everyone, including the celebrities.”
  • “This is honestly perfect for the situation currently.”

Taeyeon isn’t the only idol who has gained attention. SHINee‘s Key and Super Junior‘s Ryeowook also made their stance in recent content.

I want to hold it too, but who do I need to speak with so that they will hold the concert? I am someone who wants it just as much as the next person, but I don’t know. The label is distracted right now, so…Anyways…

With everything going on at SM Entertainment, it isn’t surprising that the idols want to showcase their frustration.
