Go Youn Jung Almost Made Her Debut In This Award-Winning Korean Movie

Actress Go Youn Jung has been on the rise lately with her work in Resident Playbook. She made her debut in 2019 through the drama series He Is Psychometric.

But did you know that she almost made her debut through an award-winning film instead? Go Youn Jung recently shared that the first ever audition she went for was for the movie Parasite. She auditioned for the role of Da Hye, the daughter of the rich family. The director had liked her as she looked like the mom in the show, as played by Cho Yeo Jung.

According to Go Youn Jung, she made it to the final round.

It was for the role that Jung Ji So played. The daughter of Cho Yeo Jung. I don’t remember the audition well, like a dream. I think I felt fascinated, like I was seeing a celebrity [when I saw Director Bong Joon Ho]. He said that I look like Cho Yeo Jung. He had hoped the actress playing her daughter would look like her, so I was one of the final few candidates.
