Korean Hotels Flamed For Exorbitant Pricing During BTS’s Tour Dates
As BTS prepare to reunite fans for their highly anticipated world tour, unexpected controversy has erupted online, this time over hotel prices.
Ahead of BTS’s scheduled concert dates in Busan, to take place on June 12 and 13, 2026, netizens began sharing screenshots of travel sites, claiming that accommodation prices in the city had suddenly surged. The average pricing has been raised by over 10 times of what it would regularly cost.
On theqoo, a fan posted a comparison showing rooms that typically cost under ₩150,000 KRW (about $103 USD) per night on weekends, jumping to ₩1.48 million KRW (about $1,010 USD) or more during the concert period.
Some fans expressed frustration, saying the increases made it nearly impossible for both domestic and international ARMYs to attend without significant financial burden. As the concert dates approach, discussions continue over whether the price increases are justified or exploitative.
