HYBE Gets Mocked For Losing Against Surprising Opponent

Yet another loss.

HYBE is facing ridicule online after another one of its lawsuits against media company Fast View was dismissed in court.

On May 12, the Seoul Western District Court rejected Source Music’s damages claim against Fast View and ordered the plaintiff to cover legal costs. The ruling came only days after HYBE, BELIFT LAB, and ILLIT members also reportedly lost a separate ₩280 million KRW (about $190,000 USD) lawsuit against the same company.

The channels Fast View operates includes videos that discuss various idol controversies including LE SSERAFIM‘s vocals, ILLIT’s alleged plagiarism and more.

Some comments included:

  • So if someone says you lack talent and you sue claiming it’s false information… what exactly are we supposed to do about that… Did they really think they could win this?
  • Then they should’ve just sung better.
  • Oh dear.
  • Another loss…? What is HYBE even doing? Did they think there was some mysterious force backing this too?
  • They keep throwing around lawsuits and now they’re completely embarrassing themselves.

Others criticized what they viewed as HYBE’s increasingly aggressive legal strategy toward criticism and commentary online. The repeated losses have now become a hot topic among K-Netizens, with many questioning whether the company is becoming overly reliant on lawsuits amid ongoing public controversies.
