i-dle’s Yuqi Makes Major Career Transformation
i-dle (formerly (G)I-DLE) member Yuqi has made a significant career move, marking her debut into a new profession.
In a bold move, Yuqi has taken on the role of a producer for Cube Entertainment‘s new boy group, NOWZ! This will mark her first time producing for another artist.
In fact, the idol was also in charge as the lyricist, composer, and featuring artist for the group’s debut single, “Fly to the Youth.”
The rookie boy group, comprised of five members: Hyunbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Siyoon, pre-released the song on June 17 ahead of the release of their mini album, IGNITION.
Yuqi talked about how she approached this new responsibility in a behind-the-scenes video, revealing that she made the song keeping the youthful vibe of the group in mind. She also mentioned that this track was her gift to her juniors.
She also took part in some of the creative direction in NOWZ’s concept film, showcasing her deep involvement in the group’s debut project.
So not only is Yuqi the main producer of NOWZ, but she also directed the ‘Fly to the Youth’ MV. Turns out, she was the one who came up with the idea of Hyeonbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Siyun crying in the concept film. With this exciting new career transition, Yuqi is expected to follow the creative trajectory of her groupmate, Soyeon, who is known for her abundant songwriting and production credits even outside i-dle’s discography.
Fans are excited beyond words for Yuqi’s new career pivot and are hoping that she continues down this path.
