ITZY's Yuna Was Not Originally Meant To Be Part Of The Group

ITZY‘s Yuna is known as a genius idol now, due to her charisma on stage, and amazing visuals. She often becomes a hot topic when she performs solo!

Did you know that she wasn’t originally meant to be a part of the group? Yuna confessed on a YouTube show recently that she originally did not make the cut. As she was always in the lower rankings, she wasn’t a part of the debut team when they first formed the group. She began to give up on her dream then.

#YUNA shared that when #ITZY was formed and she still wasn’t part of the lineup, she was sad and conflicted. She said that she’s never been in the top ranks while all her unnies were always in the top 10.

As fate would have it, she ended up joining the group late. The company informed her of the decision, and she began to work hard to hone her skills. She was afraid of pulling the team down.

I worked really hard to debut… I worked really hard so as not to affect my team, as my skills were always lacking. JYP Entertainment trainees get something like a report card. I was never in the top few. The other members were always in the top 10. They created the lineup for ITZY, and I was originally not in it. As they were forming the team, I was thinking that since my ranking was still so low, I probably wouldn’t be able to make my debut. I was going to enter high school, and I had already been a trainee for three years then. I thought that this wasn’t my path and that I should quit and study hard instead. As I was thinking that, I suddenly ended up joining the team.
