IU And Park Seo Joon Went To The Same High School? Yes, But It’s Not What You Think
On the YouTube show, IU’s Palette, singer-songwriter and actress IU interviewed actors Park Seo Joon, Heo Joon Seok, and Jung Seung Kil for their upcoming film Dream.
The actors talked about their acting careers and learned fun facts about one another through questions and games. Each actor even sang a song by IU, and Park Seo Joon’s rendition of IU’s “Love Poem” left everyone stunned.
While discussing parallels between the actors’ careers, IU said she found something interesting while researching Park Seo Joon’s career.
I discovered something fascinating. While looking for parallels with Park Seo Joon, I found out that we’re both from Kirin Arts High School.
It turns out that IU’s acting debut was in the teen K-Drama Dream High, and Park Seo Joon acted in the sequel Dream High 2.
Kirin Arts High School is a prestigious music school in the Dream High series where the most talented musicians train to become K-Pop stars.
In the first season of Dream High, released in 2011, IU played the role of Kim Pil Sook, a talented musician with perfect pitch who was not taken seriously until she lost weight and dressed better.
In Dream High 2 the following year, Park Seo Joon played the role of Si Woo, a member of the male idol group Eden.
IU even introduced a clip of Park Seo Joon performing in Dream High 2 with the iconic eyeliner, shiny jacket, and skinny jeans.
Park Seo Joon jokingly called IU his “Kirin Arts High School sunbae” or senior.
Dream High was a highly successful K-Drama of the 2010s that featured some of the most famous actors and actresses, including Kim Soo Hyun, Miss A‘s Suzy, T-ara‘s Eunjung, and 2PM‘s Taecyeon and Jang Wooyoung.
Dream High 2 also had many notable celebrities, including actress Kang So Ra, T-ara‘s Jiyeon, GOT7‘s Jay B, SISTAR‘s Hyolyn, 2AM‘s Jung Jinwoon, and Ailee.
Dream High is being remade into a musical with a cast of K-Pop idols, and the first performance is set to be on May 13.
