T-ARA‘s Jiyeon wed baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun in a private ceremony in Seoul on December 10, 2022. It was previously reported that IU would be singing the congratulatory song. It is custom that married couples be sent off with a song, and Jiyeon’s longtime bestie, IU, had to do it.
She went with “Blueming”, an unconventional pick! Usually, the song sung is a ballad or a more dulcet one, but IU chose “Blueming” for the most touching reason. Jiyeon had requested a more upbeat song, and IU did her best to deliver.

She had a requested song for today. She didn’t want to cry too much today and asked for the most cheerful song possible. So, I chose “Blueming” and she requested for me to sing it as if I was dancing. I don’t know if it will be appropriate for this occasion, but I’ll do my best to sing it as best for a wedding as possible. The two of them look so good together, and I thank them for inviting me to such a gorgeous wedding. Jiyeon doesn’t like crying, so I hope my brother-in-law will only give her happy days.
