Busted? Why Koreans Aren’t Buying Jo Se Ho’s “Sincere” Apology
After his friendship with a “gang boss” was questioned, comedian Jo Se Ho (also known as Cho Sae Ho) left behind a lengthy apology on his Instagram and stepped down from his most popular shows like You Quiz On The Block and Two Nights, One Day.

The apology, however, has since fueled further backlash for the comedian, as Korean netizens claim to have found a “telltale sign” and accuse him of using AI to draft it.

One tweet, now with over 4.8M views, mocked the way the apology was signed off…

I’ll be a better person.
Again, I deeply apologize.Sincerely,
Jo Se Ho— Jo Se Ho’s Apology
…and shaded the comedian for sounding no different from Gossip Girl.

What’s with the ‘XOXO, Gossip Girl’-esque sign off?

More netizens pointed out that, in general, the format used in Jo Se Ho’s apology sign off is not typical for the Korean language or native Korean speakers/writers and therefore suspected that Jo Se Ho or his agency used AI to draft the apology and, worse off, posted it without reading it over or thinking about how it looks.

누가봐도 sincerely 번역체잖아… 참나… 소속사에서 저걸 아무도 안 잡아낸게 웃기네 https://t.co/ULngsLo2qX— 허밋냥 (@kimhermit) December 10, 2025
Koreans usually sign off stuff like this with ‘Jo Se Ho ollim‘ or ‘Jo Se Ho baesang‘ (both to mean ‘From’ in a formal, respectful way). That’s obviously translated from ‘Sincerely.’ Honestly… It’s ridiculous that no one at his agency caught it.

Some did side with the comedian, nudging that “Everyone uses AI these days,” but most agreed that an obviously-AI-generated apology doesn’t quite align with sincerity.

- “I mean, what’s the problem? Maybe he used AI to proofread it after he wrote it. This is nonsense…”
- “Imagine signing the apology off ‘sincerely’ after asking AI to write it LOL.”
- “But lowkey, I’d ask AI to write it for me too.”
- “Doesn’t matter because he already left all his shows.”
- “The ‘With love, Diva’ is killing me LOL.”
- [Deleted Comment]
- “Maybe it was written sincerely. Who knows?”
