G-Dragon’s recent Instagram posts have sparked an unexpected discourse on Korean online communities.

Recently, the idol sparked a huge buzz with his attendance at a Chanel fashion show in New York.

After the show, he updated many of his photos from the event. Some of them featured him playing around in what looked like the inside of a subway train, with him sitting with his feet up on the seat or standing on them. However, it wasn’t really a functioning subway train, but the set of Chanel’s fashion show. The brand had used a stationary train and a decommissioned station to create the set of the show.

A Korean media outlet published an article about G-Dragon’s photos, with a headline that said, “G-Dragon Stands on a New York Subway Seat With His Shoes On… Why Did He Do It?” Though in the article, it was explained that the pictures were taken at the Chanel set and not in an actual train, many netizens were ticked off by the tone of the headline and flooded the comments, hitting back at it.

- “It’s the Chanel show venue, dear reporter.”
- “Why are they using a clickbait headline over him just posing at a fashion show venue?”
- “It’s a subway-themed show venue, lol… what an uninformed reporter.”

- “It’s not that the reporter didn’t know; the problem is that they did know it was the show venue, but still wrote that headline on purpose just to chase clicks.”
- “Seriously, it’s way too easy to become a reporter.”
