Top Actress’s Mother-In-Law Calls BTS “Kids Who Still Can’t Speak English”
Designer Lee Jung Woo (or Lee Chung Woo), better known as actress Jun Ji Hyun (Gianna Jun)’s “viral” mother-in-law, has drawn attention after making a remark about BTS.

On March 21, 2026 (KST), the designer shared a video on her social media of BTS’s much-talked-about comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square. She wrote, “An English-speaking leader with kids who still can’t, even after a decade.” She added, “I still love them all,” along with a purple heart and the hashtag #BTS, to show that it is a friendly jab.

The “which member speaks English vs. which doesn’t” discussion is, in fact, ongoing amid the ARIRANG album release. While the actress’s mother-in-law seems to find it humorous or lighthearted, RM is facing severe accusations of slamming his own members on the third track of the album “Aliens.”

Netizens also responded with mixed reactions. Some criticized the comment, saying things like, “Did she really have to post that?” and “BTS has inspired so many foreigners to learn Korean, though.” Others defended her, noting, “That’s something the members themselves have said during live broadcasts,” and pointing out her record of longtime BTS fangirling.
I've never seen a groups leader being so bitter and shady to his bandmates for being unable to speak English so much so he even wrote the lyric about this 😭 https://t.co/RI8s6JM939
