Jungkook Shares His Fear Of BTS Disbanding, And How It Would Affect Him

He opened up about his worries on “Break The Silence”.

BTS aren’t just a K-Pop group; they’re family. Given their bond and shared history, it’s nearly impossible to imagine the members ever going separate ways, but it’s something Jungkook worries about sometimes.

On May 26, BTS released their most emotional episode of Break The Silence yet. In Episode 6, the members discuss the unforeseeable future, retirement, and much more.

Right now, BTS are in their prime. Saying goodbye to the stage is as unimaginable for the members as it is for their fans, but they are already planning to stay positive if/when their retirement comes.

During the discussion, Jungkook said that he didn’t even want to think about “letting go”, as J-Hope put it.

Later on in the episode, Jungkook confessed that he worries about disbanding, and how he would continue on by himself.

What if BTS suddenly disbands? What could I do by myself? When I thought about it, I realized that I have nothing. There’s not much I can do.

“Whenever I think about it, I worry a lot,” he said. “Sometimes when I’m alone, there are times when I feel overwhelming fear washing over me.”

After all, Jungkook’s members aren’t just his coworkers; they’re his best friends. In a previous episode, he revealed how his members came into his life at a pivotal time, and how they have formed an “invisible connection”.

There’s a kind of invisible connection. I feel that kind of connection with the members. I moved to Seoul at a very young age, and didn’t really have any best friends. The members are the ones who are always by my side, and the ones I’ve been with the longest. I think they make me feel emotions that are hard to describe. It feels like we’re companions, and they helped me realize what friendship is. Family. They aren’t family, but they feel like family. There are times when I feel a close connection with them.

All performers must take their final bow someday (way, way in the future!), but life doesn’t end when the curtain falls. BTS’s friendship will continue on, and so will ARMY’s love for them.
