“Moving” K-Drama Star Reveals The Heartbreaking Way They Were Able To Overcome Malicious Comments
Actor Ryu Seung Ryong shared a touching story from the time he struggled with malicious comments.
Appearing recently on the YouTube channel Big Hand Noh Hee Young, Ryu Seung Ryong confessed that despite achieving great success as an actor, he was deeply hurt by a significant amount of online hate.
He recalled a period when he was tormented by harsh comments online calling him “an actor you can’t trust” and “an unc actor who ruins movies.”
“Even if I tried not to read the comments, it was impossible not to see them.”

No matter how hard he tried to ignore them, he inevitably encountered negative reactions through searches, news articles, and online community posts. During that time, he noticed that one netizen consistently left replies defending him, writing things like, “He’s not that kind of person,” and “Please watch his previous works.”
The moment he checked the username, he was left speechless. He revealed that it had been his son all along.
“My son’s name is Kang, and the ID was ‘kang,’” explaining that he realized the comments had been written by his son, who was in the second or third grade of elementary school at the time.”
He shared that he burst into tears upon learning that his young son had been defending him online.

Ryu Seung Ryong played Go Youn Jung‘s father in the hit show Moving. Apart from Moving, he has many hit works under his belt such as as Masquerade, Miracle in Cell No. 7, and The Admiral: Roaring Currents.
