Enlistment details for actor Kang Tae Oh have been revealed. Kang Tae Oh has been successful in the Korean entertainment industry for years as a member of the first actor group, called 5urprise. He appeared in roles for Netflix‘s K-Drama My First First Love and JTBC‘s K-Drama Run On.

But he has officially made himself a household name with his role as Lee Jun Ho in ENA‘s first-ever K-Drama, Extraordinary Attorney Woo. However, unfortunately, he may have to leave soon…

Every able-bodied South Korean male is required to serve in the mandatory military service for about 1.5 years unless you have an exemption that the nation has cleared. They must enlist by the time they reach 28 years old (Korean age). So, even if they are currently at the height of their career, they have to enlist anyway.

This includes Kang Tae Oh. He must enlist by the end of 2022 due to the age limit, as he is currently 28.

His agency, Man of Creation, has now officially announced plans for Kang Tae Oh’s enlistment.  On July 29, Kang Tae Oh’s agency shared via TENASIA that he will, in fact, enlist this year. Although, at this time, the draft notice has not been issued.

Kang Tae Oh had hoped to join The Republic of Korea Navy or Marines. But the agency expects he will join The Republic of Korea Army.

Kang Tae Oh has a masculine personality, and he loves to work out. So he wanted to complete his military service as part of the ROKN UDT or the ROK Marines. But it is more likely that he’ll be a part of the ROK Army.
