On April 30, 2025 (KST), Kim Jung Min shared a video along with a message that criticized the video creator/uploader for spreading false rumors. The video listed Kim Jung Min among the “Top 5 Celebrities Who Came Out As Gay But Later Married Someone of the Opposite Sex.”

Whoever made this should be in trouble. You might as well kill me with fake news like this. Please report this video.

— Kim Jung Min

The video claimed that Kim Jung Min had come out as gay but went on to marry a non-celebrity in 2014, when in fact, Kim Jung Min married Tani Rumiko in 2006, and they have three sons together—but the singer-turned-actor has never come out as gay. His older sons both play soccer in Japan.
