Kim Sae Ron’s Father Mistakenly Claims 50 Million KRW From Her Landlord, Only To Learn She Didn’t Pay Her Deposits

Actress Kim Sae Ron‘s tragic demise has once again become a source of controversy, owing to a deposit request made by her father during her funeral.

On May 2, Money Today reported that Kim Sae Ron’s biological father had reached out to her landlord just one day after her funeral on February 18, KST, requesting the refund of her lump-sum deposit worth ₩50.0 million KRW (about $35,700 USD). However, he was not aware that the deposit was not under Kim’s name, but had been paid by an executive from an education company. This executive, referred to as “A” in the report, had supposedly helped the actress during her financial struggles.

Mr. A reportedly offered his assistance to Kim Sae Ron to cover her housing deposits for two separate homes, one in Nonhyeon-dong in 2023 and another in Seongsu-dong, where she lived until her death.

Another friend of Kim’s, a singer referred to as “B,” also helped her out with the deposit for the Nonhyeon-dong home. Both of these individuals reportedly refused to lend money to her directly and chose to cover her rental deposits in their own names.

When Kim Sae Ron’s landlord clarified that the deposit wasn’t under the actress’s name, her father withdrew the request. According to a real estate insider, the father appeared to be completely unaware of his daughter’s housing arrangements. The insider also mentioned that despite her financial difficulties, Kim Sae Ron never missed rent payments. She reportedly covered the cost through her part-time jobs.
