Kim Sae Ron’s Side Releases Forensic Evidence That Kim Soo Hyun Dated Her When She Was A Minor

The family of the late Kim Sae Ron has released forensically investigated KakaoTalk conversation logs and forensic data exchanged between Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun.

On December 4, attorney Boo Ji Seok of Buyu Law Firm, representing Kim Sae Ron’s family, stated that they would be releasing forensic evidence in order to eliminate controversy. Previously, Kim Soo Hyun had denied dating Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor, although he admitted to a relationship with her after she turned legal.

“To eliminate any further controversy, we are publicly releasing the forensic KakaoTalk data submitted to investigators, containing conversations between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun.”

The bereaved family explained the process.

“We submitted all of Kim Sae Ron’s electronic devices, including her cellphone, to the investigative authorities and cooperated fully. Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative, attorney Ko Sang Rok, claimed in interviews that the KakaoTalk screenshot dated April 2, 2018, was fabricated by inserting conversations with another person and that the messages such as ‘I want to see you right now’ were ‘the kind of things only couples say,’ insisting the person in the screenshot was not Kim Soo Hyun. To prove the screenshot was indeed a KakaoTalk conversation between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun, we are releasing part of the forensic extraction. According to the data, the conversation occurred on April 9, 2018, and it appears Kim Sae Ron took screenshots of it on April 12, 2018.”

In 2018, Kim Sae Ron was only 18 years old, completing her high school education. She was a minor in tht year.

Kim Soo Hyun: “Ugh,

“In the conversation, Kim Soo Hyun tells Kim Sae Ron, ‘I want to see you right now.’ Based on attorney Ko’s own logic, that expressing ‘I want to see you right now’ defines a romantic relationship, one could easily conclude Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor.”

They also released additional KakaoTalk messages believed to be exchanged between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun showing the two expressing affection and saying they loved each other.

“Once again, these materials were extracted from Kim Sae Ron’s cellphone forensic data and have already been submitted to investigators. We stress again that there has been no tampering or fabrication. We urge attorney Ko Sang Rok, Kim Soo Hyun’s representative, to stop framing this as meaningless manipulation and to wait for the investigative results.”
