Beloved Comedian Reveals Shocking Weight Gain After Successfully Shedding 100 Pounds And Keeping It Off For 14 Years
In the latest episode of JTBC‘s Knowing Bros, comedian Kim Shin Young guested and opened up about regaining the weight she had lost over the past decade due to the “yoyo effect.”

During the broadcast, the comedian revealed that after losing close to 100 pounds (44 kilograms) and maintaining that weight for 14 years, she has recently regained some of that weight due to a rebound effect. Kim Shin Young commented, “When I quit drinking, I also lost weight, and I’m still not drinking now. I don’t know why I’m gaining weight again,” expressing frustration over gaining weight without fully understanding the cause.

She added, “People say that if you maintain your weight for over 10 years, no matter how much you eat, you won’t go back to how you were before—but for me, I go right back.” Kim Shin Young did admit, though, to the rebound of a long-suppressed appetite that had finally burst out.

It’s not like there was any emotional change. I think I started eating because I felt like I had been holding back all this time… I’ll finish an entire chocolate cake by myself, and I’ll eat three regular ramyeon, two spicy bibim ramyeon, and two black bean ramyeon all at once.
