Ongoing Korean Dating Show Participant Accused Of Having An Affair With Married Man

She will be edited out.

The production team of Match To Marry: With Parents has released a statement regarding controversy surrounding allegations that a participant once had an affair with a married man.

According to JTBC’s Case Chief, a shocking tip was submitted claiming that an “affair partner” is currently appearing on an ongoing dating reality show. The informant, a woman in her 40s identified as A, claimed that the contestant had an affair with her husband.

“Because of her, I can no longer live with the children I love most. Seeing her appear on a matchmaking program was extremely shocking. It was so painful. I couldn’t sleep for days and kept crying. No matter what, our family collapsed because of her, yet she seems to have no sense of guilt and is appearing on a dating show as if nothing happened. That alone is shocking.”

A explained that due to her husband’s affair, she filed for divorce in 2022 and simultaneously pursued a lawsuit against the third party involved in the affair. She won the case, and the court ordered both her unfaithful husband and the affair partner to pay ₩30.0 million KRW (about $20,400 USD) in damages.

However, A stated that she has still not received the compensation to this day. The dating show contestant has claimed that the matter is “unrelated to her” and that she “never received the court ruling.

Although she appeared on Case Chief with her identity obscured by mosaic, it was later revealed that she was one of the contestants on Match To Marry: With Parents. The production team is reportedly reviewing the possibility of filing a damages lawsuit.

“Our position is the same as what was conveyed to Case Chief. Through participant contracts, we required all cast members to guarantee that they had never been involved in past social controversies (such as crimes, affairs, or school violence). Penalty clauses for contract violations are clearly stipulated. While we took measures to prevent anyone from hiding problematic histories, this incident occurred, and we are currently verifying the facts with the individual involved. Regardless of the verification outcome, the remaining footage of the participant in question will be edited out,” adding, “We sincerely apologize to the other participants and to viewers.
