Korean Netizens Absolutely Angered After International Netizens Post False Claims About BLACKPINK’s Jennie
Korean netizens are strongly pushing back after international netizens were accused of spreading false information about BLACKPINK‘s Jennie following her appearance at the 2026 Golden Disc Awards (GDA).
The controversy began after an international netizen claimed that “Korean netizens are mocking Jennie”, alleging that she acted “full of herself” and “pretended to be tired” after what they described as a “lame, stiff, mid, and boring” performance.

What’s so evil about this accuont is that they all start with “Korean netizens blah blah” and create a narrative that hates on Jennie or BP. Koerns absolutely love Jennie’s performance and her ideas. You guy are the ones f*cking covering your ears and eyes just to curse at Jennie. Why are you bringing Koreans into this, you f*cker?

Many pointed out that the accusation appeared to be entirely fabricated, with no supporting evidence from Koreans.

Korean commenters expressed frustration that international netizens were once again putting words in K-Netizens’ mouths to justify dragging a popular idol.
Some foreign fans weaponize Korean netizens just to hate on idols they don’t like.
The truth is, most Koreans like Jennie.
Stop hiding behind Koreans
you’re just a racist, misogynistic. asshole🤮 https://t.co/8FlprPLMmV— 리리🤎 (@riiliioff) January 12, 2026
Jennie’s status has long been cemented in the eyes of Koreans who absolutely love the star and call her the pride of the nation. Many also highlighted that this incident fits a broader pattern where international netizens manufacture Korean backlash to lend credibility to hate narratives. By framing criticism as coming from “K-netizens,” they argue, antis attempt to make their opinions seem more legitimate, while true Koreans remain tired of being misrepresented.
