A report by Korean media outlet SWAY claimed that the two had progressed from colleagues to lovers after being introduced by a mutual friend. SWAY’s investigations found out that the couple had been dating for 6 months. According to SWAY, they enjoyed public dates as Chaeyoung is not one to shy away from the public. It is said that they frequented Hannam-dong and Yeonhui-dong, popular spots amongst Korean youths.

The two have a ten-year age gap, which has elicited some criticism from netizens. Others were simply surprised that SWAY managed to nab an exclusive. They were also the ones who broke the news on fellow TWICE member Jihyo‘s relationship with athlete Yoon Sung Bin.
