Second-Generation K-Pop Idol Shocks Netizens With Solo B-Side Track Titled “I Loved You XX B*tch”

He composed the song himself.

Recently, TEEN TOP member Niel announced he would be having a solo comeback with the single album PARTING EMOTION, set to release on January 11.

This will be his first comeback in over a year, with his last release being the mini-album A to Z that came out in November 2022.

While the singer’s fans are excited to get new music from Niel, however, he has drawn some controversy due to the title for one of the B-side tracks on the album.

The song in question was initially thought to be “I Loved You XX”, with fans coming to Niel’s defense saying that the “XX” stood for the “XOXO” often written lovingly in fan letters.

However, it was later revealed that the title is actually “I Loved You XX-B*tch” using the swear word 시발년아 (XX-년아 in the title), which Niel himself confirmed on a livestream. A more accurate translation using 시발년아 would be “I Loved You, F*cking B*tch”.

The meaning of the song was also shared.

Translation: “I Loved You XX B*tch” is a singing-rap song that Niel has usually never challenged before. It’s written like a radio listener submitting a story that they experienced personally. It truthfully encompasses the emotions starting from the fluttering excitement that happens when you first fall in love to the disappointment and anger you feel towards each other when you begin to walk different paths.

Netizens had some strong reactions to the title’s reveal, ranging from amusement to disgust at the vulgar and offensive term being used.

We’ll have to wait and see if the lyrics match the title when Niel’s new album comes out on January 11.
