Lee Seung Gi And Lee Da In Keep Their Promise By Donating Their Wedding Money Gifts

Actor and singer Lee Seung Gi and actress Lee Da In recently got married, and within a month of their wedding, they kept their promise of paying it forward by donating their wedding money gifts to charity.

On April 7, Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In married in a ceremony with a guest list full of celebrities. After their wedding, the couple stated they would “pay it forward for the rest of their lives“—and less than a month later, they did so.

On April 24, it was reported that the couple donated ₩110 million KRW (about $82,700 USD) in wedding gift money to the Korea National Red Cross. ₩100 million KRW (about $75,200 USD) was donated to help parents nurture their children, and ₩10.0 million KRW (about $7,520 USD) was donated to help people affected by forest fires in Gangneung.

This isn’t the first time these two actors donated to charity. Lee Da In participated in the 2018 Ice Bucket Challenge where instead of picking out the next person to do the challenge, she donated ₩1.00 million KRW (about $752 USD), saying, “I hope my participation will help and support all the patients and families who have Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Lee Seung Gi consistently donated throughout his 17-year career; in January, he donated ₩550 million KRW (about $414,000 USD) to the Korea National Red Cross in honor of his birthday, and the next month, he donated ₩300 million KRW (about $226,000 USD)to the Science and Technology Development Fund.

He also donated ₩2.00 billion KRW (about $1.50 million USD) to the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, saying that although his role ends with donating, he hopes people will continue to be aware of the neighbors who need help.

With Lee Seung Gi’s long list of charity work that goes beyond what is listed above, it is expected that he and his wife will continue to do good work in the future.
