…except in 2003, she tied the knot with a pro golfer-turned-businessman, abruptly putting her rapidly growing acting career on hold. And so, when the news of her marriage broke, fans couldn’t help but speculate about why.

The actress herself is well aware that she has been suspected of having been pregnant before getting married. In the latest episode of tvN‘s Table Tales, Lee Yo Won addressed the long-running rumors about her sudden wedding and premarital pregnancy rumors.

Lee Yo Won explained she was 23 years old when she got married. Because she got married in 2003 and her eldest was also born in 2003, rumors ran rampant about the actress “resorting to marriage after an unexpected pregnancy.”

But the actress clarified that she was blessed with a “honeymoon baby.“

I had my first child pretty quickly. I got pregnant about a month after getting married. Not that I gave birth a month later. I got married in January and gave birth in December.

In fact, even my firstborn had asked me if she was ‘a mistake,’ because her friends kept asking her about the timeline. But that’s simply not the case…

Lee Yo Won and her husband now have three children. The eldest is 23 years old, attending college in the US. The couple welcomed their second daughter in 2014 and their youngest son in 2015.
