This SEVENTEEN Member Passed His Audition Due To His Extremely Good Looks
SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu is talented, as both a singer and a dancer, but PLEDIS Entertainment had something completely different on its mind when it selected the member to become a part of his boy group.
During a recent interview, Mingyu shared he was “street casted” when he was in his second year of middle school.
Unaware of his potential as a K-Pop idol, Mingyu attended the agency’s audition without having prepared any special songs or choreography.
Mingyu ended up singing the South Korean national anthem and presenting a choreography that he had learned at church.
While Mingyu doubted the audition went well, Pledis Entertainment was strangely pleased. Mingyu passed — thanks to his extremely good-looks.
“We decided to let you pass because it’s time we added a visual member to the group.”

Good call, Pledis Entertainment! Now Mingyu is widely beloved for being the prince-looking, stereotype-breaking, singing and dancing machine he is.
