Actor Lee Cheol Min’s daughter, Lee Shin Hyang, is making her debut as an actress. According to an exclusive report from Xports News on September 12, 2025, Lee Shin Hyang has been cast in the role of Lee Ji Soo in the play Special Boing-Boing, after overcoming fierce competition with a ratio of 100:1 at auditions.
Special Boing-Boing is a comedy that tells the story of womanizer Jo Ji Seop, who juggles three flight attendant girlfriends. His life spirals into chaos as their flight schedules begin to overlap. Lee Shin Hyang will portray Lee Ji Soo, a lovely flight attendant brimming with excessive aegyo.
Reportedly, she auditioned without any help from her father, relying solely on her own skills. During the process, she impressed with her lively charm and stable acting ability, showing a strong resemblance to the character.
Director Son Nam Mok, who leads Special Boing-Boing, shared that he had no clue who she was.
“It was only after she was accepted that I found out she was actor Lee Cheol Min’s daughter. The fact that she earned the role through her own ability makes me even more excited for her.
Lee Cheol Min, known for powerful performances in dramas such as Rustic Period, Taejo Wang Geon, Immortal Admiral Yi Sun Shin, Penthouse, and Delayed Justice, is her father. Lee Shin Hyang majored in Practical Music and Musical Theater at Hanyang Women’s University, appeared in the play No Suicide in Spring, and is currently gaining attention for her candid charm on the tvN STORY variety show My Kid’s Dating.
