“I know I’m bringing this up now, but until a few months ago, the houses in front of my home were the dorms of the idol group THE BOYZ. It’s a small complex, and 70% of the houses are huge, so they were often used as dorms. The 11 members used three houses.

I don’t know much about idols, so I thought they were trainees for a while. They had a good impression when I first met them, and a really handsome man greeted me politely in front of my house. I thought, ‘I hope they do well when they debut.’ The last idol I can remember is BIGBANG.

Being idols, they seemed interested in fashion, so I would look at their fashion and greet them in the elevator hall. However, I discovered they were idols one day after looking at my Instagram feed. The man I first met and greeted was Younghoon. He was always polite. When I learned they moved here because of sasaengs, I felt bad for them and was even more cautious of outsiders in our apartment elevator.”

“A few times, strangers asked me to tap the elevator card for them, and I refused and told them to register as visitors.

While living there for quite some time, I would see their luggage being delivered, and I thought, ‘They must’ve returned from an overseas schedule.’ When I saw their colorful hair, I thought, ‘Maybe a new album is coming out?’ I felt bad for them, seeing how busy they were.

Then, there was a time a sasaeng was hiding in the apartment emergency staircase and assaulted a member. Whenever I came home, I would check the cargo elevator and staircase to see if anyone was there.

The members later moved out quietly, fearing their residence’s exposure. This made me understand how difficult it must be for idols. All the members were young, cute, and polite (I’m 40 years old, so to me they are kids). I feel so sorry for them as they always bowed to residents while worried about sasaengs. I hope they do well wherever they go.”

Anyway, seems like there’s much controversy these days, but from what I experienced living across the street from them, is that although they are playful, they’re all polite kids.
